The Engagement

This past weekend *Scott and went to his best friend's engagement party. I was super excited to see what my first wedding related event would be like.
I excitement was dead as soon as I hit the door. I didn't know what I was expecting but, I was quickly reminded that I was some random girl showing up to a family event. Yes, I stuck out like a sore thumb. I did notice that the men liked e and kept smiling at me. The evening was spent eating and drinking. I skipped out on the drinking. *Scott got wasted. It was the first time I really saw him get drunk but, he is one of the best men. I expected them to go a little crazy. I sat back and I took care of him as best as I could. The most exciting part about this was talking about our future together. I always make it known that I want a future with him.

Outside of that our weekend was fun. We went biking around his hometown pretending to pick out homes we would like to buy one day. We stuffed our faces at our favorite BBQ place and went bra shopping. Yes, he took me to several stores to buy new bras.
I hope that this weekend is uneventful. I need rest.

Let's Get it On

That was my theme song for this past weekend with *Scott. For one reason or another we couldn't keep our hands to ourselves this weekend.
I really love the fact that after so much time together we still want each other so much. I know in previous posts I have complained about the amount of sex we were having. I'm greedy. I want him more than once a day.
 Other than that. I think we slept most of the weekend. That is all.

The MOST anticlimactic meeting of the dad

This past fourth of July came and went so fast. It was semi special since *Scott met my dad for the first time. I have been avoiding this meeting because well, my dad can be very judgmental. I was able to accomplish the dreaded meeting because my dad lives in Pennsylvania. So, *Scott and I took the drive from NYC to my dads place. We both were a little nervous. However, when we arrived my fears eased a little. I figured, if my dad doesn't like *Scott... who cares? I walked *Scott up to my dad and introduced him. My dad said, "Oh, nice to meet you." That was about as much as my dad said directly to *Scott during the entire barbecue. On the grill was my cousin James. The first thing he said to me was, "Why do you have that in your head? Is that chinese or brazilian? You should just go natural!" Being sarcastic. Lucky for me, *Scott knows I wear extensions and my real hair, and I am natural as well. HA!

No worry there. I had a lot more crazy family members to introduce him to like my two half sisters and brother. My brother is huge compared to *Scott so I think he may have been a tiny tiny tiny bit caught of guard. My half sister, who was very upset and in her words disgusted that I wasn't dating a black guy gave he stamp of approval after seeing *Scott and I together. Even though she is much younger than me, I liked having her approval. Later in the day my grandparents arrived. My grandpa entertained all the grandchildren with his wild ways. Meaning, talking about drinking, weed, and the good old days. Yes, I have a very ghetto urban family.

*Scott didn't seem to mind. He got to meet my cousins who are half Filipino and their Filipino mom. I said, "Look babe, no need to worry, your peoples are here!". We stayed until there was almost no one left and my dad shook *Scott's hand and said goodnight.

After the most weird day he doesn't hate my dad's side of the family. This made me happy.

Today I spoke with my dad briefly. He asked me the most random question. He said, "Does his family like you? And do you act like.. yourself around them are do you change up?" I let him know I act like myself of course and the love me.

I am glad this is over!

All moved in

*Scott is finally in his own apartment now. We spent the entire weekend moving things and cleaning his old place. The week before his big move we got into a little fight. I was feeling a little sad and doing my normal overreacting. I had so many thoughts mostly surrounding him cheating and me regretting not moving in. Now, before you jump to conclusions, he did not cheat but, I felt like his new freedom might tempt him to look elsewhere.
This conversation happened to happen while we were sitting outside one of our favorite restaurants Grill 21 having breakfast. I had to let him know that I am really insecure sometimes and I am afraid that he will fall out of love with me. After crying behind my shades we finally cooled down and he put me in my place so to speak. He let me know that he got his own place in hopes that I would one day move in with him and that he had the option of having much cheaper rent by getting a roommate but opted for more privacy for us. He let me know that he was a little pissed I turned down his offer of moving in. He said he is going to ask me one more time next year when his lease is up if I want to move in.
I know that I will be ready by then to take that step in our relationship. Hopefully we will be engaged by then.
